Thoughts on Facebook

Have you ever felt that you could not live without Facebook? I have certainly not, Facebook is filled with clutterish stuff that you could manage without and those applications that annoys you every time you login. I do not know if they are growing in number of users or if they are losing them, I know though that they lost me. How many times have not you denied a request of an application about pirates, vampires and warewolfs?

Clearly Facebook is getting more and more like MySpace and honestly, how many people like the ugly pages and the clutter there? When I visit MySpace (which I hardly ever do) I try to see something there but then I am reminded of the ugliness of the site and terminate the window. The missing link to connect the two pages has now come with Facebook music app, Facebook and MySpace is probably going to be quite alike in the future.

My main reason why I am not using Facebook is because of the application, the constant flow of invites keep washing over you like a tsunami wave each time you log in, like Paul Stamatiou shows in his blog. The part when you have to click ignore on each and every application is extremely annoying and time wasting, where is the auto-ignore?

Do you use Facebook? If you do, why?
edit: when they launched the new version the clutter with all apps are gone, it is easier to use now I think.
